Mental Health Introductory Course

Mental illness is often misunderstood, and ignored, despite being present in almost everyone's lives. It is almost certain that either you, or a person you know well, will be affected by mental illness at some point.

This course has been designed to give participants an insight into mental illness; its definitions; its signs and symptoms; and how someone can sign-post a person who has been affected by mental illness onto an appropriate specialist service.

As well as being able to identify some of the more common mental illnesses, this course also aims to raise awareness of mental health and ill-health. It aims to tackle some of the stigma that is associated with this usually taboo subject.
